NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT
AN INSPECTOR APPOINTED BY
THE WELSH MINISTERS

The Vale of Glamorgan Council Offices, Barry Docks, Barry, CF63 4RT.

Wednesday 25 January 2017 at 10:00am
TO HOLD A LOCAL INQUIRY to hear representations from persons interested in the land comprised in the above Ordersand, at his discretion, to hear representations from any other persons who may desire to appear and be herd.
Copies of the Orders and of the maps referred to therein can be viewed by arrangement, at the offices of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry, CF63 4RU.
The Compulsory Purchase Order is made under sections239, 240, 246 and 250 of the Highways Act 1980, and the Side Roads Order is made under sections 14 and 125 of the same Act. If confirmed will authorise the Council to purchase compulsorily the land and authorise works asdescribed in the Schedules to each Order, for the purposes of:
(i)the construction of new highway and other accommodation works, to become part of the A4226 and the improvement of the existing A4226 highway from land south of Blackland Farm, Bonvilston for a distance of 4800 metres in a southerly and then a south easterly direction to the A4226 junction with Waycock Cross roundabout, Port Road Barry;
(ii)The construction of other highways to connect to the new highway mentioned above; the improvement of existing connecting highways; the stopping up of highways or areas of highway; the stopping up of private means of access to premises; the provision of new means of access to premises and accommodation works in pursuance of and in conjunction with the Vale of Glamorgan Council A4226 (Five Mile Lane) Classified Road (Side Roads) Order 2016 made under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980;
(iii)the provision of a new section of shared cycleway / footway adjacent to the on line highway improvements works from the vicinity of the Welsh Hawking Centre to Waycock Cross Roundabout;
(iv)the diversions of watercourses and the carrying out of other works on watercourses in connection with the construction and improvement and realignment of highways mentioned above;
(v)use by the acquiring authority in connection with the construction and improvement of highways and the execution of other works mentioned above; and
(vi)the mitigation of any adverse effects which the existence or use of the highways proposed to be constructed or improved will have on their surroundings.
