GEORGIA DISASTER RECOVERY EFFORT TOPS $82 MILLION
Recovery summary: By the numbers as of COB 11/4:
· More than $51 million has been approved to help disaster survivors with temporary housing, home repairs and other needs through GEMA and FEMA disaster grant programs.
· More than $31 million in loans to homeowners, renters, non-profit organizations and businesses of all sizes has been approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
· Almost 26,000 households and businesses in the 17 counties designated for Individual Assistance have registered with FEMA.
· Almost 60,000 cubic yards of debris has been removed from the disaster area – enough to fill 6,000 large dump trucks.
· More than 100 cities, counties and other public organizations in 21 counties have applied to GEMA for Public Assistance.

· Mitigation Outreach teams are moving to new locations on Saturday, Nov. 7.

· Monday, Nov. 23, is the final day to apply for assistance online or by phone.
· Nov. 23 also is the last day to return applications for low-interest SBA loans.
· FEMA representatives remain available at the SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Austell and Lilburn.

· Next week will be the last week to meet at home improvement stores with FEMA Mitigation specialists.
Mitigation Outreach Teams
· Mitigation specialists from FEMA, in cooperation with local businesses, building supply centers, relief agencies and local governments, are distributing free English and Spanish information at mitigation workshops on how to make buildings safer, and on flood insurance.
· More than 27,000 people have visited the booths for information about rebuilding their homes or building back safer.
· The teams will open at new locations at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. The hours and addresses at the new locations are as follows.

SBA Business Recovery Centers
SBA Business Recovery Centers are open specifically to provide help to businesses. Centers are open Monday through Friday at the following locations until further notice:
· Cobb County: Powder Springs Library, 4181 Atlanta Street, Powder Springs, 30127. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
· Douglas County: Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, 6658 Church Street, Douglasville, 30134. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
· Fulton County: Government Service Center, 7741 Roswell Road, Atlanta, 30350. Open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Centers
The SBA has also opened Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) for disaster survivors to get one-on-one assistance and to ensure that every qualified individual and business receives the help needed to recover from the severe storms and flooding. The DLOCs are open Monday through Friday until further notice. The hours and locations of the centers are as follows:

· Cobb County: The Threadmill, 5000 Austell/Powder Springs Road, Suite 120, Austell 30106. Open 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. FEMA specialists are also on site.
· DeKalb County: Browns Mill Recreation Center, 5101 Browns Mill Road, Lithonia, 30058. Open 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
· Douglas County: Old Douglas County Court House, 6754 Broad Street, Douglasville 30134. Open 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
· Fulton County: Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street SW, Atlanta, 30303. Open 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
· Gwinnett County: Mountain Park Depot, 5055 Five Forks Trickum Road, Lilburn 30047. Open 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. FEMA specialists are also on site.
Homeowners, renters and business owners in 17 designated counties who suffered uninsured or underinsured loss or damage as a result of the flooding can apply for federal disaster aid.
