For superior technical or professional accomplishments in research, development, administration, education, and other engineering activities. The Citation recognizes alumni/alumnae eminently known for their professional competence and creativity.

Faculty members of the College of Engineering are not eligible for the PACE award. However, faculty members who have left IowaStateUniversity become eligible after a period of five (5) years.

The PACE award is limited to those who have either obtained a degree in engineering from Iowa State University or who have been enrolled in a program leading to an engineering degree at ISU. Technical Institute graduates are not eligible.

A maximum of two awards to be given annually.

  • CIVIC ACTIVITIES (Local, State, and National and include service clubs, religious institutions, elective offices, fraternal organizations, Scouts, etc. Show offices held.).

The following are some of the criteria used for evaluating the careers of candidates for the Professional Achievement Citation in Engineering:

  • An earned degree where one has been received from IowaStateUniversity
  • Not a member or recent member of the faculty or staff of IowaStateUniversity
  • Has not been awarded an honor deemed more prestigious by the University for the same activity or career
  • A career of sufficient duration to demonstrate substantial, significant and enduring accomplishment resulting from efforts such as:
  • Creative engineering, research, design, patents, project development
  • Direction or management leadership in engineering, production, government, industry, research or education
  • Contributions to the enhancement or progress of the engineering profession
