Assistant Vice Principal – Teaching, Learning and Student Progress

The Altius Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional and ambitious leader to further enhance capacity within our leadership team. The Altius Trust is an ambitious and growing Academy Trust which currently operates one secondary school, Manchester Enterprise Academy, with another secondary school, MEA Central, set to open in September 2017.

The successful applicant will initially take a lead role in the development of Teaching and Learning at Manchester Enterprise Academy, working closely with both the Principal and the Vice Principal to continue the Academy’s excellent record in raising student achievement.Due to our outstandingreputation, excellent results and rapid growth in student numbers, our flagship school, Manchester Enterprise Academy is currently undergoing a £12 million pounds’ extension, with our state of the art campus opening in September 2017.

In September 2017, we will also be opening our brand new Academy, MEA Central, thus we welcome applications from outstanding leaders who have the vision and strategic skills to support the growth of the Trust and develop initiatives at this exciting time. MEA Central will serve students in Rusholme, Withington, Fallowfield and Levenshulme.

Manchester Enterprise Academy

Manchester Enterprise Academy is a thriving 11-18 Academy that is recognised as a centre of excellence in supporting students to achieve outstanding results. In 2015 we were announced as winner of ‘Secondary School of the Year’ at the MEN School Awards with the Academy’s success being recognised both locally and nationally, including the Prime Minister highlighting our achievement in his August 2015 speech. The personal development of students is a strength of the Academy with SMSC provision judged as ‘outstanding’ during our most recent Ofsted Inspection.

The Altius Trust believes that the main engine of school improvement is providing outstanding learning in the Academy. As part of our commitment to CPD we are part of the Teacher Development Trust Network (TDT) where the quality of the Academy’s CPD was audited against the TDT CPD quality framework. Such audits have echoed quality assurance visits from Teach First and the University of Manchester, who have graded our provision for the development of ITTs and coaching and mentoring as outstanding.As strategic partners of Teach Manchester, Manchester Schools’ Alliance Teaching School,we are also able to provide unique teaching and leadership opportunities for our staff.
