Summary: The following Commscopefactory-made 1/2” RF jumper cables with SureGuard Weatherproofing (SGW) boothave achieved General Availability (GA) Status.

Description of product(s) being made Generally Available:

NOTE: DIN connectors that are fully threaded, such as the Ericsson RRU, must have the following threaded adapter installed to properly seal the SGW boot. The connector in Figure 1 below requires the HSG-M29-ADPT adapter. Figure 2 will not have an adapter installed. Refer to the Commscope installation instructions for additional information

HSG-M29-ADPT / SureGuard threaded port adapter, 10 per bag / CEQ.14702

(requires adapter) (do not use adapter)

Rationale/How is the product used?

  • The SGW cables have the same technical characteristics as non-SGW Commscope LDF4 jumper cables. SGW factory made RF jumper cables include a SureGuard boot installed on each end that eliminates the need for additional weatherproofing
  • SGW jumpers are only to be used outdoors where weatherproofing is required. SGW jumpers shall not be used indoors or for any application that does not require weatherproofing
  • SGW jumper cables may be used on outdoor RF devices with DIN connectors only (RRH/RRU, antennas, etc.)
  • SGW jumper cables are not to be used for hardline connections (7/8”, 1-1/4”, 1-5/8”, etc.). The SureGuard boot is not designed to weatherproof this type of connection, conventional weatherproofing must be used
  • Each factory made jumper cable has a serial number. PIM and sweep measurement data are stored on a web site and can be accessed from the link below
  • Go to
  • Select “Resources”
  • Select “WebTrak”
  • Select “WebTrak Product Group”
  • Select “Wireless Cable Assemblies”
  • Input WebTrak number (obtained from the cable assembly labeling)

Additional Information/Technical References

Treatment of Assets Removed From Service
The BAU Accelerated Depreciation process should be followed anytime a network element is being taken out of service. Specifically, if the market removing the asset(s) does not identify an immediate reuse or sparing opportunity for the asset(s), the Market Fixed Asset Analysts must receive notification at least 60-90 days prior to go-dark-date, via the Mobility Acceleration Request Form. This allows AT&T to avoid unexpected P&L hits while enhancing the quality of financial reporting. Also of note in this process is the Excess and Obsolete (E&O) list, at this link EO Master List.xlsx. If the equipment part numbers being removed from service are on the E&O, they should always be retired to not add to the existing excess.
