GLENGARRIFF GOLF CLUB - LOCAL RULES

1. OUT OF BOUNDS

(a)All ground outside railings & fences surrounding the course.

(b)Over stone drain on left of 1st/10thfairway.

(c)Shed and machinery area to left of 4th/13th fairway as defined by white stakes.

(d)Internal Out of Bounds – for safety reasons

-when playing 9th/18th anywhere on or left of line in ditch defined by white line & white stakes including 8th/17th tees.

-when playing 4th/13th anywhere over the roadway to the right and on or over the white lineas identified by thewhite stakes.

2. HAZARDS (Rule 26 Penalty Drop)

Ball lying in any stream or drain throughout the course including stone drain on left of 1st/10th. Lateral water hazards are denoted by red stakes , water hazards are denoted by yellow stakes.

3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24 Free Drop)

(a)All artificially surfaced paths and roadways including kerbs.

(b)All water installations and manhole covers.

(c)Seats and Ball Cleaning Units throughout the course.

(d)All staked trees

(e)Direction Posts, Flag Poles, Observation Platform,Distance Markers and Permanent Tee Markers.

When playing 4th/13th ball striking telephone/electricity pole or wire must be replayed.

4. GROUND UNDER REPAIR (Rule 25) as marked throughout course. Ball lying in hoof mark, tractor mark or rabbit scrape on fairway may on consultation with opponent be treated as GUR.

5. HEATHER PLANTATIONS – A ball lying in the heather plantation at the 3rd/12th, 7th/16th or the 9th/18th tees must be dropped without penalty within one clublength of the nearest point of relief not nearer the hole.

6. DROPPING ZONES

(a)If in attempting to obtain relief under local rule 3a from the artificially surfaced roadway while playing the 3rd/12th the ball when dropped is unplayable, a further drop at no penalty may be taken in the drop zone adjacent to the roadway.

(b)If in attempting to obtain relief under Rule 28c (Unplayable Ball), due to a ball lying near fence on 3rd/12th or 5th/14th in the area between blue posts, it is not possible to take relief without getting closer to the hole, a ball may be dropped instead in the nearest dropping zone for the same (one stroke) penalty.

7.RIGHT OF WAY

Players playing 9th/18th should give way to players playing 1st/10th.

Players playing 1st/10th should walk behind 9th/18th green.

Players in Club competitions have priority over all others on the course.

8.OTHER LOCAL RULES

These rules may be superseded or amended by other local rules which will be displayed in the Clubhouse.
