2015-2016 Contest Schedule

The Outstanding Building of the Year "TOBY" Award was created in 1985 to salute excellence in the office building industry. Now,it remains the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in commercial real estate, recognizing quality in office buildings and awarding excellence in office building management.

The local BOMA office along with the TOBY committee have revamped the Local entry requirements and have rearranged the schedule to provide ample opportunity for revisions for the Local level winning submissions. The schedule below will guide you through the months up to the final submission at the Regional level on March 25, 2016. The entry cost is $500.00; (a)$25.00 data-submission fee of each building entered into the online system collected at the time of sign in (b)$200.00 to the BOMA localfor awards, costs associated with judging at the local level and other related costs (c) $275.00paid to BOMA Internationaland collected upon submission of Regional Data.

August 2015 / TOBY online submission portal opens
August-October 2015 / Portfolio development
October 19, 2015 / Official entry form and fee due in the BOMA Office, entry cut-off date
October 23, 2015 / Final Local Portfolio Due
November 2-13, 2015 / Judging at Local Level
Building Inspections – part of the rating procedure
December 2015 / Local winners announced at BOMA’s Holiday Gala (Date TBD)
January 2016 / Review of written submissions meeting for Local Winners – Q & A – examples – limited coaching
January 2016-March 2016 / Continuing development of electronic portfolios submissions
March 25 , 2016 / Regional Submission due date*
April4-April 15, 2016 / Regional judging
April 8, 2016 / All regional winners submitted to BOMA International for International Competition/All building’s EnergyStar data must be shared with BOMA International
April 27, 2016 / Regional winners announced at BOMA’s April General Meeting
May 4-May 15, 2015 / International judging of Regional winners
May 16, 2015 / All TOBY Nominees announced
June 2016 / International winners announced at BOMA’s International Convention in Washington D.C.
