Dwight School is seeking afull-time Design Teacher and Technology Integrator, 6-12 beginning in August 2018. The position includes the following benefits of working in the Technology Department at Dwight:
- Grade 6-10 students at Dwight School receive technology instruction through Design courses, which encourage students to learn, think, and act as a designer
- Dwight School’s technology program features 1:1 iPads in Grades 1-4 and 1:1 MacBooks in Grades 5-12
- Dwight School launched an innovative student incubator through its Spark on Innovation program
The daily responsibilities of the Design Teacher and Technology Integrator, 6-12 are to:
- Teach design-focused technology classes in grades 6-12
- Work with faculty on the increased integration of purposeful technology in their curricula, refreshing existing curricula with innovative uses of technology where appropriate
- Develop and deliver internal academic technology training for teachers across divisions
- Model innovative technology use for other Dwight faculty members
- Mentor students through Dwight School’s Spark of Innovation incubator program
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Teaching experience in one or more of the following disciplines: computer science; design; engineering; library and media; technology
- Experience working in a school with a 1:1 program
- A record of success teaching to a range of learners
- Experience with the IB Middle Years Program Technology/Design (preferred)
- Ability to contribute positively to the community with patience and humor
