HOLY TRINITY WINS PERRY OFFICE PRODUCTS CONTEST! Thank you to all of those who voted for Holy Trinity in the Perry Office Products $100,000 Education Overhaul. Holy Trinity won the high school division! The school will receive $25,000 in educational furniture, plus design and installation, for the school’s computer lab. Holy Trinity received 3,167 votes. Results can be seen at http://www.perryop.com/overhaul/index.htm. Thank you to all of you who voted and convinced all of your friends to vote!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE. Plumbing work continues. Crews have begun to prepare for pouring the slab of the school. Contractors report that the concrete work is expected to begin on Monday!

CELTIC RUN A BIG HIT! A total of 148 runners/walkers participated in the Celtic Run. Kevin Consedine was the overall winner. Senior Sam Daheim was the top student and third overall. GRADUATION PREPARATIONS. Junior parent Mona Huffman has graciously agreed to facilitate the graduation reception. Parents interested in assisting should contact Mrs. Huffman at . Graduation is on May 30 at 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s here in Temple.

SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION AVAILABLE ONLINE. New and returning Holy Trinity students are encouraged to spend the first eight days of summer vacation…back at school! Once again, Holy Trinity will offer Algebra Camp, Health, and Speech in the summer time. Health and Speech are required classes for graduation. Taking these in the summer are a great way to get these credits done, and it is especially good for students who are new to our school. Summer School will be offered Tuesday, June 1 through Thursday, June 10. No class on Saturday or Sunday. The cost remains $150 per class. MASS AT ST. MARY’S ON MAY 18. The last school Mass of the year will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 18. At the end of the Mass, we will conduct the annual Junior pinning ceremony. Parents are encouraged to attend.

ENROLLMENT CONTINUES FOR 2010-11. We have now had 25 new prospective students take The Cabrini Exam as part of the admissions process for Holy Trinity. Again, if you know someone who would benefit from a Holy Trinity education, please let them know about our school.

AWARDS BANQUETS. The annual Sports Awards Banquet will be held on May 15 at the Clarence Martin Recreation Center. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with awards to follow at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. The Annual Academic Awards Banquet will at 6:30 p.m. on May 20 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Tickets are $10 or $5 for children. Students being honored get in free. Catering is by Cactus Jacks for both banquets.

CLUBS AND SPORTS

FORENSICS-ACADEMIC COMPETITION TEAM. Holy Trinity will play host to the TAPPS State Public Forum Debate tournament on May 15. Volunteers are needed! Also, the Forensics-Academic Showcase will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 19.

TRACK. Senior Christian Wiedenfeld will represent Holy Trinity in the state track meet Saturday.
