NOTES PAGE FOR JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2015

~A Happy and Healthy New Year to Everyone! I hope that everyone had a happy and safe holiday season and an enjoyable break. As you can see, we will be starting the year back up with a variety of activities in the next month. As always, feel free to pass on the information about new activities we have not tried that the group may enjoy.

~Our Bowling League will now resume on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Limerick Bowling Lanes. There will be NO bowling on Sunday, February 8, 2015. (We have an alternative activity, listed in the newsletter.) The fee will remain at $10.00 per week until further notice. If you require receipts, please don’t hesitate to ask weekly. Also, if it would be easier, we would be happy to write up something monthly if it is easier for recordkeeping.

~The Special Olympics Swim Team will resume practice on Wednesday, January 14th, 2015 at the Boyertown YMCA.

~Our Wallyball recreation league will resume on Monday, January 26th, 2015 at the Boyertown YMCA. If you would like to participate in any of the aforementioned activities, please contact the office for registration.

~We continue utilizing our designated Helping Hands Soc/Rec cellular telephone to bring to each and every activity in case of emergencies. It is with a staff person at all times. That telephone number is 610-506-6723. Also, if you need to cancel for a particular activity, the vans leave for activities as follows: Wallyball-5:00pm on Monday nights, Bowling-12:30pm on Sundays, Swimming-4:45pm on Wednesdays. We check the general voicemail at the Helping Hands office and also mine (Laura’s office voicemail) before leaving for every activity. If you will not be attending or need to cancel, please contact the office prior to these times.

~To alleviate confusion, you must contact the office to register for activities. It should not be done via postal mail, as the time elapsed usually means that you are on the waiting list. Please email, fax, or call the office for registrations.

~I would like to personally thank the handful of families, friends, and agency staff for volunteering your time at the Gift Wrap booth at the Coventry Mall this season! We raised over $5600.00, which is more than we have raised in over 10 years!!! We greatly appreciate all the help!

~As mentioned in all the previous newsletters, if I forget to mention someone’s’ birthday in the birthday page, or I get the dates wrong, or if you are new in our group and I do not have you on the Birthdays Page yet, please do not hesitate to let me know.

~In an attempt to assist in cutting down on spending money, postage, and phone bills, we request that if we do not have your email address on file that you email us for our records, just for our general information. Also, for your information, we check the agency email daily, so it can be utilized as a means of communication with Wendy, etc. Along those lines, please check our agency website that has been up and running for quite some time now. The website URL is www.HelpingHandsInc.com

~We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming activities!

~Happy New Year!!!!
