To earn the College Honors Program designation, students will complete at least 12 Honors credits, distributed as follows:
Three Honors Seminars, 9 credits
Students can begin taking Honors seminars during their sophomore year. Some Honors seminars may fill general education and/or major requirements. Undergraduate research beyond the capstone project may be substituted for one or more Honors seminars with the approval of the Honors director.

Honors Capstone Project, 3 credits
Students will usually complete the Honors capstone project during their senior year. See the Honors Capstone Project Handbook for detailed information about this requirement. The handbook is available at

To maintain good standing in the Honors Program:
- Students must maintain a minimum 3.25 QPA overall and in their Honors courses.
- Students are expected to enroll in at least 1 Honors course each semester until they have fulfilled the curricular requirements of the University Honors Program. Students who are not able to enroll in an Honors course must inform the Honors director.
- Students must fulfill the Honors Program’s participation requirement each year.
Special Note Regarding Study Abroad Credits:
Students who study abroad may count up to 6of their study abroad credits as Honors credits.
