ART & DESIGN SCHOLARSHIP - GUIDELINES

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville

The Department of Art and Design has been granted a numberofone-semester scholarshipsfor tuition remission (*course fees not included) to award toincoming or freshmen art majorsfor the 2018-2019 academic year. The scholarship is based on outstanding achievement and grade point average.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be an incoming freshman, registered for at least 12 credit hours in Fall 2018and/or Spring 2019
  • Be a declared Art major (Art History, Art Studio, Art Education)
  • Have a 3.2-4.0 GPA overall
  • Have a combined ACT score of 23 orabove.

To apply for this scholarship,you must:

  • Submit the following on a Flash Drive or CD labeled with Name, Major, & Student ID #:
  • Application (in .doc or .docx format; see page 2 for the form)
  • Resume(no more than 3 pages, in .doc or .docx format)
  • 500 Word Essay (in .doc or .docx format; see page 3 for specific directions)
  • Unofficial Transcript (scanned into .pdf format)
  • Images: 8-10 digital imagesin a Microsoft PowerPoint file and accompanied by an image list in .doc or .docx format

Art Studio and Art Education majors only

  • Art History paper: graded, with course number and title, and Instructor’s name

Art History majors only

  • Deadline: February 16th, 2018, at 4:30 p.m.
