SCOTTISH FENCING CENTRAL SECTION - BYC QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS

In previous years there have not been enough entrants to need to hold qualifying competitions for the majority of events, if you wish to enter the BYC Finals this year please send an entry to:

If we receive more than four entries for any competition, or if we are required to rank fencers for seeding purposes, then we will hold a qualifying event on Saturday 11th March 2017 at West Fife Fencing Centre.

Age groups

U12: Born 2005 or2006U14: Born 2003 or 2004

U16: Born 2001 or 2002U18: Born 1999 or 2000

ENTRY FEE - £27.00 PER WEAPON EVENT (Central Section has to pay British Fencing for every entry, so unfortunately there can be no discount for entering more than one weapon)

This must be paid even if there is no qualifying competition.

Entries are only valid when accompanied by the appropriate entry fee – email entries WILL NOT be accepted.

Fencers must have Scotland Central Section selected as their region in their British Fencing Membership and be a UK resident.

The first 4 fencers in a competition (without byes) in each event qualify for the British Youth Championship Finals to be held on the 29th, 30th April, 1stMay 2017, at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield.

Any fencer who reached the last 8 in their event at a 2016 British Youth Championship Finals may claim a BYEto this year's Championships at the same weapon, regardless of age group; this includes finalists from the U10 events.

FENCERS CLAIMING A BYE MUST ENTER THE REGIONAL QUALIFYER, however need not fence, should a qualifying competition be required.

We are required to rank entrants to the BYC finals. In the absence of a competition this will be done by consensus of the coaches within Central Section. If this is disputed or there is a lack of agreement then Central Section will hold a qualifying event.

All entrants/parents/guardians must ensure they have read and understood the Kit Regulations and Summary of Check in Times – they are completely out-with the control of Central Section.
