Job Description

Job Title: St Peter’s Hospice Van Driver

Department: Commercial

Reports to: Area Manager

Location(s): Greater Bristol and Surrounding Areas

Hours: 37.5 hours commencing at arrival at first SPH location and ending at departure from final SPH location.

Job Purpose:

Moving stock and other items between shops, offices, recycling points, warehouses and third party locations. To Support the retail team.

This post holder is expected to use their own initiative and be able to work without constant supervision

Key Responsibilities:

·  To ensure goods are collected, promptly and courteously.

·  To take reasonable measures to prevent any loss of goods or any damage to goods whilst in transit.

·  To collect and deliver goods to designated locations as per schedule or as directed by line manager or central team.

·  Perform basic maintenance checks on the vehicle on a weekly basis.

·  Undertake any other duties as required by line manager or central retail team

·  Empty all contents and maintain clothing banks on as agreed with the Area Manager.

·  To assist shops with general duties when all driving duties are completed

Reporting

·  Complete and submit accurate records of required data as directed by the retail team.

·  Inform line manager/retail team and complete paperwork immediately in the case of any incidents and or accidents.

·  Report any storage / delivery issues on the area as they arise to your line manager

Communication

·  Proactively work alongside all staff and supporters of the Hospice at all times

·  Check emails on a regular basis

·  To be available to receive and communicate information via the provided mobile phone throughout the day.

·  Identify and report to the line manager any issue that may affect, disrupt or enhance the scheduled routine.

·  In an emergency if you are unable to speak to your line manager you must speak to a member of the retail team

·  It is a key responsibility to maintain confidentiality and use discretion at all times.

·  To develop own knowledge and skills in order to perform more effectively

·  Attend mandatory training and meetings when required

·  Be aware current promotions and events

·  Work in accordance with all SPH policies

Dimensions:

To carry ID at all times and to wear uniform as provided.

Provide ID as and when requested

Applied Knowledge and Skills

This job is suited to a person who has a courteous manner and good personal presentation.

This job is physically demanding and requires the person to be able to cope with a considerable amount of manual work loading and unloading items on a daily basis.
