A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Robert C. "Bob" Wade.

WHEREAS, Bob Wade was a proud graduate of Glendale High School, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wade began his life as a farmer and went on to impact so many people in his community of Hardin County and in this Commonwealth. His accomplishments were many and the knowledge, humility, and charisma with which he lived his life was profound. As a pioneer in "no-till farming," his love of agriculture and the land he tended was genuine, and this devotion to his trade made him a visionary and a leader to the people of Hardin County and around our great state; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wade was a board member of the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives; served on the Planning and Objectives Committee of the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation in Washington, D.C.; was treasurer of the Hardin County Extension Feed Grain Committee and past president of the Nolin RECC Board and the North Central Kentucky Education Foundation; was a member of the Glendale Lions Club and the University of Kentucky Community College Futures Commission; was the director of Helping Hand, PNC Bank, and the Elizabethtown Community College Foundation; was past chairman of the Hardin County Extension District Foundation; and was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Farmer of Kentucky Award, the Hardin County Distinguished Citizens Award, the R.R. Thomas Award for Orderly Development of Hardin County, the Hardin County Farm City Relations Award, and the Kentucky Farm Bureau Award for Distinguished Service to Kentucky Agriculture; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wade departed this earthly life on January 8, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Bob Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Campbell and Alice Wade. He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Wade; his sons, Steven R. Wade and his wife, Conny, Thomas C. Wade, and Robert C. Wade, Jr., and his wife, Jill; his grandchildren, Victoria Wade, Tyler Wade, Shelby Wade, Wyatt W. Adkins, Campbell Wade, Candace Wade, Matthew C. Wade and his wife, Sarah, James R. Wade, and Christopher M. Wade; and his siblings, Campbell Wade and his wife, Mary Ann, and Katherine Williams and her husband, Larry;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their deepest sense of sorrow and proffer their sincerest condolences upon the passing of Robert C. "Bob" Wade, and extend their heartfelt sympathy to his family in this time of loss.

âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Robert C. "Bob" Wade.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Dennis Parrett for delivery.
