This programme is for BAME D/deaf and disabled playwrights and is open to writers based across the UK.

Please answer all questions on this form clearly in type or black/blue ink. We also welcome applications in other formats, e.g. BSL video or Braille.

1. Statement of interest

In no more than 400 words, please tell us a bit about yourself and why this opportunity interests you. This might include a summary of your writing experience to date, your specific interests, what you feel you might gain from being a writer on the programme, etc.

2. A sample of your work

In a separate document, please send us a sample of your writing. Your sample must be intended for live performance. We do not accept TV/film scripts or prose. Please send us no more than 10 pages if you are working in written English.

3. Tell us a story

Please tell us a story in no more than 200 words. This can take any form (dialogue, poetry, prose, spoken word, etc) and be about anything you wish. What story are you burning to tell, and how might you communicate that story in such a short form? Be as creative as you wish.

Interviews

Interviews will take place at Graeae, Bradbury Studios, 138 Kingsland Road, London E2 8DY and are likely to take place week commencing 30 November 2017. We will contact you via your preferred method of communication if you are shortlisted for interview.

You will be contacted if you are not shortlisted for interview. Unfortunately, we cannot offer feedback on unsuccessful applications.

Access

Graeae’s building is fully accessible and we can provide BSL interpreters and access support workers across all interviews. Access Audit Forms will be sent in advance to shortlisted writers to collect details of access requirements.

If you are offered a position on the Write to Play programme we will continue to support any access requirements.
