Wayne Attwood
After graduating from Art College with a Diploma in Art & Design, Wayne achieved success painting large historical works, mainly in Oils. Opportunities also arose in commercial art;where he has undertaken projects for large corporations such as Coke-Cola, Disney, BBC, Film4, Sky TV and Kodak to name but a few.
In 2004, he left the UK to sail around the Mediterranean where he rediscovered his passion for painting.
He spent an extended period in Malta, producing a body of work devoted entirely to this group of enchanting and historic Islands. He presented a solo show in Valletta and as an invited artist, in exhibitions for the Prime Minister and President of Malta. Returning to the UK in 2011, he now splits his time between painting in central England and the Mediterranean. His work is represented in private, corporate and public collections across Europe.
The Workshop
Learn how to collect relevant information from direct observation and use them to produce finished studio paintings. On day one, we shall go out on location in the vicinity of the Art Centre, to work "en-plein-air", producing a series of sketches and studies to use as reference for when we work on a studio painting during day two.
Students are welcome to bring along their preferred sketching materials for day one and then their preferred paint media for the studio painting on day two.
Please Note:
As we will be working outdoors, it is recommended that attendees wear appropriate clothing for the forecasted weather conditions. If you are uncomfortable sketching standing up, bringing along something to sit on, such as a folding camping stool or chair.
