1.Call to Order - Meeting called to order @ 5:30pm, with Pam Vona in the Chair.

2.Quorum – has been reached, 66 in total.

3.Statement of Equality – read by Pam Vona.

4.Introduction: All members present introduced themselves.

b.Approval of the previous minutes – September 6, 2017M/S/C

6.Treasurer’s Report

  • $102,500 as of September 30, 2017 in the General Account.
  • $134,000 as of June 30, 2017 at AUPE HQ. out of which $75,000 was transferred to our general account because funds required for our Children’s Christmas party.

7.OLD BUSINESS

a.Wabamun camping

  • $2,000 was budgeted for this event, only $1,967 was spent.

bWingnite

  • The wingnite that was held on September 19 was very well attended. 125 members in attendance. We may try another venue in St. Albert in the new year.

c.WEM Waterpark

  • About 1,576 members attended and no complaints. Everything went well. We cannot sell more than 1800 tickets as that is the maximum capacity for the venue. The waterpark is closed for only AUPE members.

d.Convention

  • A volunteer list will be circulated for the mixer night on Wednesday. Delegates may volunteer for the mixer night.

e.Christmas Children Party

  • Ticket pick up is on October 14. If you cannot pick up your ticket, please have someone pick up for you provided all the information is presented. Parking ticket will be included – one per family. If there is a change in age or gender, please notify Ron immediately.
  • 433 Adults, 260 girls and 236 boys tickets were registered.
  • Thanks to Daniel Nobis for volunteering to be Santa Claus.
  • A volunteer list will be circulated.

f.Fort Saskatchewan Area Council

  • Jason will attend November 1st meeting to update the council.

8.NEW BUSINESS

a.EAC website

  • Members selling tickets are encouraged to subscribe to the website for updates and ask members to do the same.

b.Calgary Area Council

  • The Executive attended their meeting. Our attendance at meetings is quadrupled theirs. They do their business differently and seems to be confusing.

c.Calgary Zoo Tickets

  • The expiry date on these were October 2017 so none was purchased. We will purchase some with a new expiry date. We will purchase bulk tickets and we could returned unused tickets prior to the expiration date.
