3. / Welcome and introduction by PTA President : Beverley Stevens
BS welcomed all new members of the PTA, explaining that it is rare for a secondary school to have a PTA and thanked existing ones for their efforts in the past year. The PTA and school have both been going through a time of transition and she expressed thanks for the teamwork and commitment that has made this year a success. BS acknowledged that the match funding we have received from Microsoft has had enormous benefits and that we are very grateful for their support through TR.
4. / Chairman’s Report
JS thanked all members of the PTA for their support and generosity – both in time and donations. For new members, we tend to meet once or twice a term for approx. 45 minutes, with an occasional sub-meeting for an upcoming event.
5. / Treasurer’s report.
Presentation of accounts by GB.
Income from PTA events in 2014-15 was £18, 488, including match funding of £4,500 from Microsoft. The loss from the sale of ties and tights from last year has been rectified. Summary of accounts is attached.
6. / Election of Officers and Committee for 2015-16
The following officers and members were elected:
Chair: JS nominated by HC & seconded by TB;
Treasurer: GB nominated by JS & seconded by CM;
Secretary: CM nominated by ND & seconded by TR;
Social Secretaries: JD, SO’K, HC & TB all nominated by JS & seconded by CM;
Teacher representatives: BS & MW;
Ordinary members: SH, NH, LE, CN, ND, SC, CW & TR;
7. / Review of recent activities.
BS noted that the Founder’s Day “Festival” had been a success and that it seemed to work better for the Communion service. Feedback from parents has been very positive.
