MONEY COUNTING TEAM NO. 2 THIS WEEK
PROCLAIM WESTMINSTER
We have been asked by the Cardinal to send two delegates to a conference in Central London on Saturday 14th November 2015. The conference will have delegates from every parish in the diocese as well as the Cardinal and auxiliary bishops.
The aim of the conference is to look at new ways of proclaiming our faith to lapsed Catholics and non- believers alike. The Cardinal would like our parishes to become truly “missionary” parishes, in the same way as “missionaries” went out to various parts of the world beginning with the Apostles themselves. The venue is Vincent Square, near to Westminster Cathedral, in the halls of the Royal Horticultural Society from 9.30 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. and will be followed by a Holy Hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament at Westminster Cathedral which will end at 5.00 p.m. There is no charge for the day. Everyone is asked to bring their own lunch; tea, coffee, water and cakes will be provided free of charge throughout the day.
If you are prepared to be a parish delegate representing our parish here in Ware, then please have a word with Fr. John asap. As the conference is next Saturday, thank you – no parishioner, as yet, has volunteered to represent our parish.
CHURCH CLEANING
This week Bernadine Bridges & Richard Fennelly, thank you.

NOVEMBER – the Month of the Holy Souls
During the month of November nine Masses will be celebrated for the repose of the souls of the people whose names are included in our ‘November deceased list/Book of Life’. Please take a purple sheet of paper and an envelope from the table at the back of the church and put on it the names of the people you wish to be prayed for and return it through the Presbytery letter box.
SICK & RETIRED PRIESTS COLLECTION
The clergy of this parish thank everyone who donated to the Sick & Retired Priests collection last weekend, which was £1261.78p. It’s not too late to make a donation if you wish. Envelopes are available at the back of the church and should be posted through the Presbytery letterbox. This important collection helps cover the expenses of frail, elderly, infirm and chronically ill priests dependent on the Diocese. Thank you for your prayers for all our Catholic priests and especially for those concluding a lifetime of service the Church. For more information, visit www.rcdow.org.uk/donations.

Please take home a CAFOD World Gifts catalogue, available on the table at the back of the Church after Mass, - or order online at www.cafod.org.uk/worldgifts

GARDENERS NEEDED
Fr. John is asking for one or two volunteers to take over caring for the flower bed from the side door of the church to the presbytery as the previous gardeners are no longer able to continue. If anyone could spare some time, always at your convenience, please speak to either Fr. John or Jean McAleer.

THANK YOU
Thank you to the two parishioners who last weekend swept up over 6 black bin bags of fallen leaves & conkers from our Church car park. Your help is really appreciated; if there is anyone else who would like to volunteer to help keep the car park clear during the autumn period, your efforts would be most welcome.

ADMISSIONS TO OVERSUBSCRIBED CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
Please be aware that the Bishops of England and Wales have introduced a new Certificate of Catholic Practice for use by Parish Priests. For the purposes of the Certificate, A PERSON IS A PRACTISING CATHOLIC IF THEY OBSERVE THE CHURCH’S PRECEPT OF ATTENDING MASS ON SUNDAYS AND HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION (see Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraphs 2041-2042). The obligatory character of these positive laws decreed by the pastoral authorities is meant to guarantee to the faithful the INDISPENSIBLE MINIMUM in the spirit of prayer and moral effort, in the growth in love of God and neighbour. If you think that you will need a Certificate completed for a Primary School in the coming year, please speak to Fr John.

I BELIEVE IN ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH
137. Q. Why is the Church called apostolic?
A. The Church is called apostolic because she was founded upon the apostles, holds fast to their Tradition and is governed by their successors Jesus called the apostles to be his closest collaborators. They were his eyewitnesses. After his Resurrection, he appeared to them repeatedly. He bestowed on them the Holy Spirit and sent them as his authoritative messengers to all the world. They assured unity in the early Church. They conferred their mission and authority upon their successors, the bishops, through the laying on of hands. This process is called Apostolic Succession.
