Job Title:Native Pride Project Coordinator

Salary: Grade 24 – Non-exempt / $11.30 - $16.91(DOE)

Status: Probationary/Full-Time

Hrs/WK:Min: (40) Forty Hours

Department:Wellness

Job Location:Tucson, Arizona

Nature of Work:

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the MSPI Native Pride Project, this position will assist the Project Director in oversight of the entire grant project, coordination, completion and implementation of all programs goals, objectives, activities, and service, recruit and coordinate the Project Advisory Board, lead in adapting the youth intervention and facilitate the youth intervention.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for assisting the Project Director in planning and directing the Native Pride Project goals and objectives.
  2. Responsible for coordinating with the Evaluation Director/UA COPH Consultant.
  3. Responsible for maintaining positive collaborative relationships with national MSPI IHS managers and local IHS IT and Behavioral Health Consultants.
  4. Responsible for adapting and implementing the evidence-based youth intervention.

Required Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

-Knowledge of community health, service systems, management,

Coordination and reporting standards.

- Skills facilitating American Indian youth health promotion

Interventions.

- Knowledge regarding grant data collection.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Required Experience and Training:

-Bachelor’s Degree, in a health, social, education or related field and at least three years of experience in program implementation and management.

Additional Requirement:

  • Must posses valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Must pass Driver Insurance Carrier’s requirements
  • Must pass Arizona DPS Finger Print Clearance (Class I & II)
  • Must pass and submit to periodic/random drug testing

Working Conditions:

-Ability to sit for long periods of time in an office environment with low tomoderate noise.

-Ability to sit in front of a computer for 6-8 hours a day.

-Ability to travel to various locations, including out of state.
