There will be one passage from The Odyssey and three passages from The Great Gatsby. You will be asked to answer AP-style questions for these passages. Read, study, and annotate the passages before the final.

Passage 1: Book XIX

Passage 2: Chapter 2-begins “I married him because I thought he was a gentleman” and ends at the conclusion of the chapter (pages 39-42).

Passage 3: Chapter 6-begins “James Gatz-that was really…” and ends “Jay Gatsby had filled out to the substantiality of a man” Pages 104-107).

Passage 4: Chapter 9-begins “One afternoon late in October” and ends at the end of the chapter (pages 186-189).

You will also be asked to identify literary terms used in sentences. You will also have EOC style reading selections with reading comprehension questions, and revising and editing questions.

YOU MUST BRING YOUR READING PACKETS TO THE FINAL. You will turn these in after your test.

You will not be allowed to use dictionaries or literary terms glossaries on the final. Packets may contain markings from our class discussions, but NO DEFINITIONS are to be written in them or on the back.
