Graduate Student Travel Award

The ACS Division of Fuel Chemistry is excited to announce that it will provide a travel award to the 243nd ACS meeting in San Diego for two graduate students. The award covers up to $1750 for travel expenses to the ACS meeting. The purpose of the award is to provide the student an opportunity to present at a National ACS meeting, networking with your peers and experience how an ACS division operates through the direct interaction with the committee and members of the Fuel Chemistry Division. The requirements are as follows:
· Must be a Graduate student
· Must submit a preprint to present at the meeting
· Must be the presenter
o Can be oral or poster presentation
· Must have a recommendation from the advisor (to be submitted by the advisor to the Division Secretary via email: Michelle Kidder, , please use subject heading “Fuel Graduate Student Travel Award-recommendation”)
· Must be available for the executive and business meetings (TBD) (dinner and lunch will be provided)
Details of the award:
· 2 awards will be given
· Up to $1750 in travel, reimbursement will cover air fair, hotel, and registration fee (please keep receipts)
· In addition, a dinner ticket to the Energy and Fuels dinner (historically the joint Fuel and Petroleum dinner) on Tuesday night will be given.
· Email the following information to the Fuel Division Secretary by (February 1, 2012
o Michelle K. Kidder () please use Subject heading “Fuel Graduate Travel Award-application”
o Include a copy of the preprint, name (must be the presenter), college attending, expected graduation year
o Recommendation from the graduate advisor, to be submitted by the advisor to please use Subject heading “Fuel Graduate Travel Award-recommendation”
· The winner of the award will be announced by March 1, 2012.
