Training

The Skills for Care Common Induction Standards set out the things you need to know for your work in providing care or support to people, whatever their needs may be.

There are eight Common Induction Standards:

Standard 3 CommunicatingEffectively

Standard 4 Equality and Inclusion

Standard 5 Principles for implementing duty of care

Standard 6 Principles of safeguarding in health and social care

Standard 7 Person-Centred Support

Standard 8 Health and Safety

At Enham Trust we deliver the Common Induction Standards Training as a one day interactive workshop attended by Personal Assistants, Carers, individuals looking to work in social care and recipients of Personal Budgets / Direct Payments.It is mandatory and must be completed within six months of your start date.

The one day workshop covers all aspects of the 8 standards and a certificate of attendance along with the Skills for Care training log is issued upon completion of the course.

The course provides an ideal opportunity for individuals working as Personal Assistants and/or Carers to meet with others in similar situations and to forge support networks.

Naomi Carr our dedicated Personal Assistant Support and Training Adviser – PASTA is on hand throughout the day to offer support and advice as well as guidance on how to access further training opportunities.
