Franchising Research Assignment
This activity allows you to count the cost of franchising. You may not choose the same franchises as the people next to you. To be completed independently!
1. Research franchises on one or more of the following websites:
www.franchise.org
www.entrepreneur.com
www.inc.com
2. Look at several different franchises in at least 3 different industries.
3. Determine 3 franchises you would buy if you had the capital. These franchises must be from 3 different industries.
4. Answer the following questions for each in a new Word document. Formatting should be clean and neat. Spelling, punctuation and correct grammar will be taken into consideration for the grading of this assignment.
5. Once finished, save the document to your H drive in your ‘Entrepreneurship’ folder. If you’ve not created a folder just for Entrepreneurship, please do so now. If you are unable to save to your H drive for whatever reason please print the document and be prepared to hand it in next class period.

10. What is the ongoing royalty fee?
11. How long is the agreement for it and can it be renewed?
12. What is their official website?
13. Find a recent article or press release about this franchise. Tell me about it in at least 5 sentences.
14. Do we have a franchise in our area? If not, why not?
15. What kind of support is offered to the franchisee after opening the business?
16. What are the requirements of the owner/manager of this franchise (i.e. education, personality traits, etc.)?
17. How can you contact the company to obtain more information about the franchise?
18. What did you find interesting about this particular franchise?
19. Include an interesting or unique fact about the franchising opportunity.
