Exodus leads the way back to Tibet

Adventure travel specialist Exodus has resumed its trips to Tibet, following last week’s confirmation from the Tibet Tourism Bureau that visitors will again be allowed to travel to the country and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s relaxation of its travel advice to Tibet.

Tibet expert and Exodus senior product manager Jim Eite comments: '’This change in FCO advice is welcome news. We were disappointed to have to put our trips to Tibet on hold and are now pleased to be able to reinstate our tours and share the spiritual and magical experience of Tibet with our customers once again.”

Exodus offers a number of tours to Tibet, departing from August onwards, some of which are highlighted below:

The epic Lhasa to Kathmandu Ride Cycling Holiday rides across 'the forbidden land', taking in Kathmandu and Lhasa, the north face of Everest, 5000m+ passes, and an unrivalled 4000m descent into Nepal.

The high altitude plains of Tibet hold a mystical allure and one of the world's most spectacular road journeys, from the Forbidden City of Lhasa through the Himalaya to Kathmandu is undertaken on Exodus’ Highlights of Tibet trip.

The Tibet Explorer trip spends three days in Lhasa taking in the Potala Palace and the city’s temples, monasteries and market, visits the Yarlung Tsang Po Valley and Tibet's largest lake, Nam Tso.

Exodus’ Kailas and Saga Dawa Festival witnesses the annual Buddhist Saga Dawa Festival, celebrating Sakyamuni's enlightenment. The trip is a spiritual journey from Lhasa, across the desolate Tibetan Plateau to watch the flagpole ceremony and join Tibetan pilgrims at Darboche for a challenging trekking circuit (kora) around Mount Kailas.

Lhasa & the Kangshung face of Everest is a superb Tibetan trek through the Kharta and Karma valleys to the rarely-visited Kangshung Face of Everest.
