The Tron Theatre occupies a unique place in the cultural and social life of Glasgow. As well as housing an award winning Theatre Company within an acclaimed architectural development, the Tron Bar and Restaurant have long had their own identity in the whole Tron experience. Tron Catering Ltd is a separate company managed by Tron Theatre, which covenants any profits back to Tron Theatre Ltd.

Following a £5 million refurbishment, completed in 1999, the Tron houses two distinct eating and drinking areas. The New Bar, situated on Chisholm Street is a striking addition to the Merchant City, while the much loved Victorian Bar retains its old fashioned warmth and atmosphere. The theatre foyer with its bar, is also available for functions and events and for possible future development.

Responsibilities
  1. To ensure the highest levels of service to patrons of the Tron, whilst maximising the net profit of the Company within the general policies of the Tron.
  1. To ensure bar and restaurant shifts are run effectively.
  1. To ensure that all stock and monies are controlled and kept well ordered and safely.
  1. Work with the Bar & Catering Manager, General Manager and Artistic Director, to create the right ambience for the Tron Bar & Catering areas, including, but not limited to, recorded music and live events within the bars, menus, display and design.
  1. To ensure that all paperwork is dealt with in an ordered and timely fashion.
  1. To ensure that Health and Safety, Environmental Health and all licensing requirements are monitored and adhered to.
  1. To act as a key holder for the building, ensuring that all emergency call-outs are dealt with both swiftly and safely and that the building is left securely when you lock up.
  1. Any other reasonable duty as required by your managers.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years bar and waiting experience - essential
  • Experience working as a charge hand in a busy bar / food operation
