Job Title: NLC Hospitality Events Team Leader AM

Accountable To: NLC Events Coordinator

Status: Fulltime Hourly, 8am-4:30pm Tuesday - Saturday

(Rotating Sundays & Large Events)

Pay rate is $11.50/hr (.50/hour increase upon successful 90 appraisal)

Job Titles Supervised: Events Field Staff

Purpose: To serve New Life Church by providing leadership for the Events field staff and working in close association with the Events Administrator, the Events Coordinator and the Reservations Coordinator in the planning, and direction of daily event related tasks. In addition, interact with internal departments and members of the community regarding Events and Facilities needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

·  Events:

o  Operating in continual prayer over events and their attendees

o  Operate as the primary Team Leader on Saturdays and as scheduled by the Events Administrator or Events Coordinator. This will include…

§  The daily planning and operation of Event responsibilities.

§  Connecting with Reservations Coordinator and other Hospitality leadership utilizing daily setup work sheet to plan and prepare for event and housekeeping needs.

§  Leading the Event field staff as they perform set-up and tear-down needs of classrooms and multi-purpose rooms, which may include but is not limited to: 5’ and 8’ tables, folding chairs, stackable chairs, easels, podiums, round tables and other furniture or accessories.

§  Meeting/connecting and provide consistent communication with event leaders and hosts, insuring needs are met and all attendees are properly cared for.

§  Coaching, guiding and instructing Events field staff employees so as to develop leadership, proper decision making skills, spiritual giftings and other areas of individual and team growth.

o  Assist the Events team as directed when not operating in the primary leadership role.

o  Provide assistance in the moving of furniture and equipment.

o  Open and close facilities according to reservations requests and campus calendar while monitoring lights, heat and air conditioning in order to ensure the comfort and safety of guests.

o  Inspect facilities, noting maintenance and repair needs and filling out Task Requests.

o  Special projects as requested.

·  Housekeeping:

o  Leading Events team in the daily, weekly and monthly Housekeeping duties such as…

§  Clean and disinfect tables and chairs in preparation for and the cleanup of an event.

§  Remove and dispose of all trash from buildings.

§  Vacuum carpeted areas throughout the campus.

§  Cleaning classrooms, and kitchens.

§  Shampooing carpets and light-duty stain removal.

§  Dusting furniture, counters, air vents, light fixtures, and other items regularly as needed.

§  Wash and polish as needed: windows, baseboards, doors, light switches, hand rails, drinking fountains, elevator, fixtures, mirrors, dispensers in classrooms, offices, large rooms, public areas and other areas as designated.

§  Clean all restrooms, including toilets, walls, lavatories, mirrors, and dispensers and restocking products as needed.

§  Mop floors,

§  Spot-clean fingerprints and handprints on walls.

§  Stock and maintain cleaning supplies inventories throughout the buildings on an as-needed basis.

·  Other:

o  Advance the Kingdom of God by representing Christ at all times in thought, action and speech.

o  Support Hospitality Director, Events Administrator and Events Coordinator in team building and evaluation processes.

o  Track, order, and organize inventory supply needs, including the processing of PO’s, for Events staff if assigned.

o  Lead the raising, lowering and mending of WPC flags as assigned.

o  Provide support for the Grounds team, utilizing available Events field staff employees, in the removal of snow (including shoveling, operating snow blowers and spreading ice melt).

o  Respond to fire or security alarms as they occur.

o  Run general errands as requested.

o  Assist with traffic control in parking lot as requested.

o  Support New Life Church with your tithe.

o  Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries of New Life Church.

o  Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings as required.

o  Cooperate with the Executive Leadership, Director of Events, Events Administrator, and Reservations Coordinator by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

NOTE: Job duties may be performed in an office environment, classroom, large multi-purpose room, kitchen, storage room or outdoors in any season. Use of ladders, carts, dollies and hand-trucks may be required.

Physical Dexterity (Psychomotor Abilities) Required for Events Positions

· Multi-limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the body is in motion.

· Manual Dexterity – Adroitness in using the hands.

· Dynamic Strength - The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.

· Extent Flexibility - The maximum range of motion possible at a particular joint or series of joints working together.

· Gross Body Equilibrium - The ability to keep or regain your body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.

Minimum Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.

Experience: Commercial events and/or housekeeping leadership experience preferred; fully paid 2-3 week training is provided.

Physical Requirements:

·  Ability to work, walk and stand 6-8 consecutive hours per day.

·  Ability to pay attention to detail. Good near and far vision is important.

·  Must be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, arms, fingers, shoulders, etc. without cramping or tiring.

·  Must be able to withstand occasional periods of commercial cleaning product exposure to skin and/or respiratory system, sometimes in closed areas.
