2004 Guemes Island Ferry Committee Ballot Instructions & Ballot
On February 22, 2004 at the annual meeting of the Guemes Island Ferry Committee, the Ferry Committee charter was amended to provide that:
E6. “Election [of committee members] shall be by printed ballot by electors who must be registered voters of the Guemes Island Precinct”.
To this end, you have received this ballot.
Ballot Instructions
1. To vote:
a. Completely blacken the square to the left of only one desired candidate’s name.
b. To write-in a candidate, write their name on the line provided.
c. Date your ballot.
2. If you make an error:
a. "X" out the incorrect vote.
b. Mark the square corresponding to the correct vote.
3. After voting:
a. Cut the ballot off the bottom of this page.
b. Fold (vertical fold) the ballot in half -- print side in.
c. Place the ballot into the enclosed envelope marked “Security Envelope”.
d. Seal this “Security Envelope”.
e. Place the sealed “Security Envelope” into the also-enclosed “Return Envelope” (this has been pre-printed & pre-addressed to the Guemes Island Ferry Committee).
f. Seal this “Return Envelope”.
g. Place first class postage on this “Return Envelope”.
h. Mail the “Return Envelope”.
4. To be valid:
a. The ballot must be returned in the “Security Envelope” within the “Return Envelope”.
b. The “Return Envelope” must be mailed.
c. The “Return Envelope” must be postmarked no later than midnight, April 15, 2004
d. Only one “Security Envelope” is allowed in each “Return Envelope”. ( In other words if there is more than one voter in a household, each voter must use their own individual Security Envelope” & “Return Envelope”.)
