WINTER 2015 Session

Important Notice:

Students and Parents: If you are planning on taking Drivers Education, it is very difficult to participate in any other groups, sports, activities, or camps. Please keep this in mind when signing up. Attendance to all classes is critical.

Course Information

Application Due Date: Wednesday, January 21, by 2:45 pm. Applications need to be returned to Emmett High School. Mr. Carter will post the names of those students that made it into a class on Jan. 22, at the EHS.

Starting Date:

1.  Classes will start Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015.

2.  Class starts at 3:00 pm.

3.  Classes may be held at Emmett High School.

4.  Class times and drive times will be decided the first day in class. The first class is 2 hours long. 3 to 5 pm.

Ending Date (Approx.): Last week of March

Cost: $150 / Paid to Emmett High School

Course Time requirements: 1. 30 Hours Classroom

2. 6 Hours Driving

3. 6 Hours In-Car Observation

Selection Process: Students will be picked by chronological birthday.

Course Rules

Attendance: A student can miss no more then 2 classes. The cost for making up the class is $20.00 per hour. Students wanting to attend sports camps, vacations, or other events will need to choose between Drivers Ed and that event

Parents Meeting

An informational parents meeting will be held the last week of the class. The teacher will notify the student of the date and time. It is mandatory that one parent attend this meeting.

Permit Information

Age: Students must be 14 ½ years old to take the class and purchase a permit.

When: Those students that get in to the course will be assigned a time to get their permit. It is very important that the permit is picked up on the assigned dates.

Where: Gem County Drivers License Bureau

Obtaining A Permit: Students must bring the following items

1.  Certified Original Copy of the Birth Certificate from the state in which born.

2.  Social Security Card

3.  Verification of Compliance Form – This has been turned in for you by Mr. Carter if you are a student in the Emmett School District

4.  The parent that accompanies the student must be the biological parent or legal guardian (Certified papers will be required); a stepparent will not be allowed to get the permit with the student.

5.  Parent must accompany the student and bring with them - Parents Drivers License or State Identification Card

6.  Glasses or contacts if needed to pass the eye screen test.

7.  If you were adopted or have guardian, you will need to bring in the certified papers showing your adoption or their guardianship.
