Dear MCTS Alumni Members, Family and Friends:
We do not know or control what others will do. We only have control over what God allows us to do. It is important that we rededicate a replica of the MCTS Historical Bell back on campus. The dedication is slated for 11:00 a.m. on August 23, 2017.
On November 24-26, 2017, we will host the MCTS All Alumni Classes Reunion. There will be a special tribute to the MCTS 1967 graduating class’s 50th Golden Anniversary. The 1967 Class theme is “Living Life, LikeIt Is Golden”. These two events are a part of MCTSAA mission to celebrate and capture the best of the MCTS family. The Bell’s rededication will unveil the Brick Project that has been underway for several years.
These two events will allow alumni members, family and friends to provide support and encouragement to the MCTS Story. Each of you can be a participant in these events in very tangible ways. Please, show your support by participating in the rededication of the Bell and Brick program. We encourage you to purchase a brick in your name, the name of a family member, teacher, classmate or friend. We encourage you to purchase a ticket or a table to the banquet celebration on Friday, November 24th. Also, you can purchase an Ad in honor or memory of a classmate, family member or friend to be placed in the November Souvenir Booklet. We also have opportunities for business sponsorships for the November event.
We must do this… the MCTS story is a fantastic and amazing story of faith, sacrifice and unconditional love. It is a story of men and women working to create something for the future against many barriers and overcoming tremendous setbacks. It is a story that should be preserved as an example of how a strong vision, with a determined mission, can help one succeed against insurmountable odds and achieve excellence.
The more I hear and learn about the wonderful people that were part of the MCTS environment, I feel a great sense of pride and achievement. I believe, we cannot and should not allow anyone to denigrate or eliminate our history. I believe, the many people that played a part in this story must be recorded and remembered.
Hopefully, our story will encourage others to tell and capture their story.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Anderson Flen
