Item Description Time Allotted
1* CHAIRWOMAN’S OPENING REMARKS 10:00 – 10:10
(Carmel Gondek/Susan Clary)
Approval of Minutes
Meeting Date: May 8, 2014 MRWG Meeting
No suggested changes from the draft minutes. C. Nelson will post the minutes to the ISO website.
2 STATUS UPDATE: TIME AND COST ESTIMATES FOR SUB-HOURLY METERING (presentation attached) 10:10 – 10:45
(Susan Clary)
S. Clary presented the summary of meter reader reports of time and cost estimates for sub-hourly metering. Feedback from S. Clary is that there is some concern over one of the meter reader estimates that it would take 7+ years to implement. The chair would like to report that implementation could be completed in a three year duration, but that it may not be possible to start the project in the 2015/2016 time-frame.
If there are no comments from the MRWG, S. Clary will forward the presentation to the transmission sector for review prior to forwarding to the Markets Committee for posting.
NHEC had not provided a cost estimate since they currently have no generation or tie-lines. S. Clary responded that she would change the report to reflect that all utilities had reported cost estimates, but that one of the 11 utilities has no estimated costs since there are currently no registered generators or external tie-lines in their metering domain.
S. Clary then asked if all utilities have a settlement process that is represented by Ex #1 or Ex #2 (slides 6 and 7). If not, then please respond.
Presentation should be made to the Markets Committee on the morning of July10. Matt Brewster will be presenting the costs for the SCADA “Plan B” option at that meeting.
S. Clary will incorporate comments from other meter readers and re-distribute prior to presentation at the Markets Committee meeting.
3 OTHER BUSINESS 10:45 – 12:00
C. Gondek has announced her retirement from NU and will no longer be serving as co-chair of the working group. S. Clary would like to know if the group would like to go back to a single chair model or if we want to elect a new co-chair. General consensus is that the group has been working well with S. Clary so we will continue with a single chair.
S. Clary also mentioned that D. Hesketh and D. Bergeron are also retiring imminently and J.Michaud has left UI and will be moving to NU. Any new members to the MRWG should subscribe to the MRWG distribution list and have their security administrators and the committee affiliation in CAMS.
Next Meeting
The next MRWG meeting was set for Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 10:00 to 12:00.
