The Reality Of Death
Text: Hebrews 9:27 says,
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."
Introduction:
Death is actually the separation of the soul and spirit from this human form in which we all dwell for a while.
A person should not be abscessed with the thought of dying, but on the other hand, preparation must be made for that day,
Due to the fact we do not know when or how it will occur. Let's think about several questions concerning death
- Who?
We are born into sin - All Ages-
- .... Both old and young alike...
- All Classes-
- ...Rich and poor, powerful or the weak...
- All Nationalities-
- .... All must prepare for death not matter what their nationality.
- How?
How does death come? - Slowly—
- ...Some do not die until they are well advanced in years...
- Suddenly—
- ...Car wreck, heart stops, etc.....
- Surely-
- .... Appointed unto men once to die...
- Where?
Where dose death lead?
There are only one of two places to go--heaven or hell.
- Heaven
- A place of bliss, bounty, and beauty.
- Hell
- A place ofsuffering, screaming, and separation from all that is good and holy forever.
- One will go to hell --if he does nothing about his sin
- But One can go to heaven if he will turn from sin and turn unto the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Why Not
- Why not turn
Luke 13:3
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
- Why not trade-
- A life of separation from God for a life that can know closeness of God through the new birth.
- Why not trust in the Lord?
Mark 8:36
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
- Conclusion:
Ecclesiastes 11:3
If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.
This coffin in front of us today reminds us that death is a reality and that we should make the proper preparation for the day we leave this world
Where you go will depend upon what you do with the Lord Jesus Christ
Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
