Second and final stage of a 2 stage 24 month agreement with an increase of 1% based on the February 2015 RPI figure, applied from the 1 April 2015.
The first stage of the 2 stage 24 month agreement applied a 2.7% increase on all pay rates for all staff working at Bridgwater, Taunton and all Devon & Cornwall locations. The increase was applied from week in which the 1 April falls for weekly paid staff and from the month of April for salaried staff. This is subject to specific variations - To preserve the same differential in pence per hour between Somerset and Devon/Cornwall drivers, the basic Devon & Cornwall rate increased by 24p per hour to £9.04: the Somerset rate also increased by 24p per hour from £9.00 to £9.24. In both cases, the overtime rate was increased from £10.00 to £10.26 per hour. This principal will also be applied to the second stage of the agreement which is due on the 1 April 2015. Unsocial hour's payment will increase to £1.02 in Somerset and remain at 5% of the prevailing pay rate in Devon & Cornwall. Engineering rates at all locations were increased by 2.7% from 1 April 2014; 'ring-fenced' rates will remain frozen. However, a cash sum equivalent to a 2.7% annual increase will be calculated and paid as four equal lump sum payments each year. This reflects the way in which the 2013 pay award was handled for this group of staff. Cleaner rates will be reviewed to ensure the proposed 2.7% increase achieves appropriate wage standards.
