General notes:

ü  Bullet point achievement/responsibilities

ü  Keep the CV to 2–3 pages maximum

ü  Include more detail for more recent roles and less for older positions

ü  Content will depend upon your experience. Academic qualification are more important with less experience and less so if you have many years experience

ü  Achievements are more important than responsibilities

ü  Use good quality white paper if printing

ü  Use familiar business font styles, sizes and colour e.g. Arial, black

ü  Your employment history should be in reverse chronological order with your most recent role first

ü  Put your contact details on each page

ü  Check and re-check, use spell-check as well as getting a second opinion to spot any errors

ü  Explain any gaps in your career and include full career history. If you have many years of experience older roles can be summarised

ü  Do check what you publish - prospective employers are likely to check social media pages (LinkedIn, Facebook etc.)

ü  Do not put referees on your CV. They are not required at this early stage and if a prospective employer need them they will ask
