MARKETING ASSISTANT
- 31 Hours - /

Responsible to; Client Relations Manager

Main Purpose of the Job

The Marketing Assistant will co-ordinate the development and implementation of marketing and communications on behalf of KSDL to support the Managing Director and Client Relations Manager in delivering our contractual agreements with Company Sponsors, Partners and Tenants as well as marketing the Stadium as a whole.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Ø  Following a brief from the Managing Director or Client Relations Manager, to write and proof engaging content for a variety of communications including the company PR, blog post, twice yearly Stadium newsletter, incorporating the Stadium’s tone of voice and key messages.

Ø  Support and maintain The John Smith’s Stadium website, updating news, events and content.

Ø  To manage the Stadium’s online presence on social media sites, to include the Stadium’s Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts to maximise engagement. Monitor channels and answer enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Ø  Work with and monitor content of Social Media from KSDL Sponsors, Partners and Tenants with a view to develop user generated content on their behalf.

Ø  To develop online and offline collateral including writing project briefs, developing schedules and liaising with colleagues to ensure deadlines are kept.

Ø  Assist and develop email communications, including sourcing and developing imagery, copy and landing pages.

Ø  Liaise, and arrange meetings, with the Stadium Marketing Agency to ensure the marketing needs of the Company are being met and that any amendments are actioned in a timely and accurate manner.

Ø  Liaise with agencies, printers and suppliers on the design, pricing and production of marketing collateral.

Ø  In liaison with the Managing Director and Client Relations Manager to produce adverts to run on non-matchdays on the Stadium small screen and programme the screen accordingly.

Ø  To assist in the co-ordination and support of the Stadium run events such as the twice yearly Stadium Networking Forum, Fine Dining and VIP Stadium Events.

Ø  Assist the Managing Director with the HD One Sports and Leisure Development by providing marketing and administrative support and attending meetings as and when requested to do so.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Ø  Support the Client Relations Manager with Sponsor updates, marketing statistics, general administration and other marketing aspects relating to KSDL’s Sponsors, Partners and Tenants. Contribute ideas for new campaigns and supporting literature.

Ø  Liaise with company stakeholders and attend networking events on behalf of KSDL to build effective working relationships

Ø  General marketing administration, including company printed stationery and other ad hoc duties

Ø  Management of the Stadium’s database

Ø  Evaluation of marketing campaigns, collating and reporting analytics

Ø  Liaise with the on-site Stadium Catering Partner with regards to events and “what’s on” and plan these into the marketing schedule.

Ø  Assist the Managing Director and Client Relations Manager with Marketing Strategy and budget

Ø  Prepare a marketing strategy for major Stadium Events, i.e. International sporting fixtures etc. in conjunction with the Managing Director’ Events Manager and Client Relations Manager.

Ø  Provide occasional support to the Stadium Reception team.

Charity Partners

Ø  Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice – liaise with the Charity with a view to assisting them with the promotion of their events held at the Stadium, and in particular their Annual Sporting Dinner.

Ø  One Community – to assist with the general promotion of the Charity. Organise the annual booking of monthly meetings and promote the charity through Stadium contacts where appropriate to do so.

Ø  Greenstreams River Project – assist with any and every opportunity to promote the Charity through Stadium contacts. Assist in the organisation of the annual Corporate Volunteering Event and Networking Event.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Knowledge – Marketing strategies, Social Media platforms and experience of software packages such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel etc. to produce correspondence and documents and maintain/update databases.

Experience – Desired degree in a Marketing related subject. Previous marketing work experience desired but not essential.

Skills - Good copy and proof writing skills, adaptable work ethic and ability to multi task, Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team. Effective time management, communication skills (both written and oral). Confidentiality, attention to detail and positive attitude essential.

Qualifications

Marketing related degree or equivalent

GCSE Grade C, or equivalent, in Maths and English
