BLG exhibits in Copenhagen

From March 10 to 12, 2015, BLG LOGISTICS Group will be present at the European Wind Energy exhibition “EWEA Offshore” (Stand No. C4-C39) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The heavy-lift cargo handling segment BLG Wind Energy Logistics will showcase its innovative logistics solutions for the offshore wind industry. For example an optimum solution was found for the challenging interface between overland and seagoing transport. Further the engineering team of BLG offers customer-oriented solutions for all needs by means of its mobile weighing system: BLG is able to weigh large components up to a total weight of 4,800 tons - regardless of the location.

With the Special pontoon Offshore BHV 1 ports along the coasts of Great Britain, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and other countries bordering the Baltic Sea can be served by BLG. Among other things, the pontoon has a seafastening system that eliminates the need for welding work, thus contributing to cost savings and at the same time protecting the environment.

Inform yourself during the exhibition about the Offshore Terminal ABC-Halbinsel Bremerhaven, where the heavy-lift sector has the room it needs for handling and storage of its goods. A heavy load platform, in front of which offshore installation vessels with jack-up capability can position themselves, provides for a distributed load capacity of up to 20 tons per square meter. Loading and unloading are carried out with self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT), cranes, and heavy-duty forklifts.

As the offshore industry requires cost reduction BLG is also engaged in standardization work. The company takes the lead for the standardization project ISO 29404 in order to transfer innovative logistics solutions and already existing best practice approaches for a standardized exchange of logistics information to an international standard. During a poster session which is taking place on Wednesday, March 11, BLG will show potentials and challenges of standardization.

BLG LOGISTICS GROUP has around 16,000 employees working in the Divisions Automobile, Contract and Container at over 100 locations in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America.
