AFP GREATER TORONTO CHAPTER PHILANTHROPY AWARDS
OUTSTANDING FOUNDATION OR PHILANTHROPIC GROUP
Purpose
The AFP Greater Toronto Chapter has established this award category to recognize a Private [charitable, family, community or other] foundation or a special-purpose philanthropic group (i.e. service club) that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles encouraging philanthropy local, national and/or international community involvement.
Eligibility & Nomination Criteria
An individual member of AFP Greater Toronto Chapter or the Awards Selection Committee or the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter Board may submit a nomination for this award.
The nomination should include the following information with specific examples from the nominators’ organizations:
1. Description of impact of gift and achievements accomplished through the foundation’s or philanthropic group’s efforts locally, nationally and/or internationally. (0-50 points)
2. Show evidence of motivating others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement. (0-30 points)
3. Outline innovative approaches to philanthropy that have been successful (0-20 points)
Submission Criteria
Each nomination should include the nomination form, the narrative and any supporting documents.
The narrative should be no longer than 3 pages (12-point format with 1” margins). Supporting documents are accepted, but only to support the narrative. No more than 6 pages of supporting documents are allowed. Do not introduce new information in the supporting documents.
The Awards Selection Committee, chaired by the Past President of AFP Greater Toronto Chapter, will be asked to review candidates based on the eligibility criteria set out above. If in the judgment of the Committee, no applications meet the criteria, no award will be given in this category.
