Welcome from the Chapter President: I want to express my thanks to the Nomination Committee for their work in finding candidates for the 2013 Chapter officers and directors. Sue Sottile chaired the committee with support from James Lynch and Susan Seymour. Our newsletter will continue to be posted on the web at I am happy to be receiving requests from the membership electing to receive delivery of our newsletter by email. I am still in need of assistance from members to step up to help in 1) overseeing our monthly newsletter, and 2) serving as custodian for supplies for our monthly meeting and candidates for the vacant offices (1st
Next Meeting: Tuesday, January 15, 2012. Please Note the January meeting date is on the third Tuesday. Our future meetings in 2013 will be back to our regular 2nd Tuesday of the month. Board meeting will convene at 11 AM with potluck luncheon at 12 noon and then followed by a presentation at 1 PM. The speaker will be your President, Raphael Wong, who will give the membership insights into his recent Taipei Dragon Boat International Competition in June 2011. Also, he will present some insights into his visits to Taiwan after the race.
December Presentation:There was no presentation at the December meeting as it was a special catered luncheon event and installation of the newly elected officers. Vicky Duarte, Area 10 Vice President attended the luncheon and installed the new Chapter 489 officers. Patricia and Ricky Skean catered the luncheon and also served the members with a great catered meal sitting on a round table arrangement at the McLean Community Center.
