Narration on Buddha’s Story in Thai/English

Buddha shall be flourishing for mankind

Your Venerable Sir, Committee and all Honorable Guests,

The full moon day of the sixth lunar month is the greatest day,

we, Buddhists melted our minds into one garland of flowers

To worship Lord Buddha, the Great Teacher.

Viskha Pj is the greatly auspicious day to commemorate the Birth, Enlightenment and passing into Nirvana of the Lord Buddha who is full of Wisdom, Purity and Kindness which are the advantage, virtue, progress and peace to the persons, societies, countries and all mankind.

Your Venerable Sir, Committee and all Honorable Guests, Lord Buddha was a King by birth who was born at Lumpin Garden. He was son of King Suddhodhana and Queen Siri Mahmy. His original name was Prince Sidhartdha, He was well taken care of and raised up from his childhood until growing up to be a youth. He was royally married to Princess Yasodhar and had a son names Rhula.

At the age of 29, He was tired of being under the status of a layman and then decided to be ordained by the riverside of Anom River. Following His ordination. He studied arts and sciences at the school of Brahmins until completion, however, he saw that the subject he had studied were not the path to His success. So, he broke away to exert His effort to study by Himself alone with firm determination until he enlightened became the Buddha at the age of 35.

Thereafter, He devoted His life on the missions to disseminate His Teachings together with sending His Disciples to proclaim the Religion at various communities and in capital cities until Buddhism was firmly imbedded. When the time was reasonably appropriate, He passed into Nirvana in the town of Kushinr at the age of 80.

The day of his Birth, Enlightenment and Passing into Nirvna was the same day and the same month which was the full moon day of the sixth lunar month, therefore, this day is deemed to the important day of the Lord Buddha. His Dharma. (Doctrine) relating to His Birth is katannu or gratitude, His Enlightenment is the Four Noble Truths and His passing into Nirvana is not to be negligent. All these are excellent Dharma that contribute to the rising of peach and happiness in world’s society. It is considered a great fortune that his Dharma makes the world to adhere to the Loving-kindness, Dharma and Dharma of Endurance as there is a there is a saying that the world will be heated because of the war but, in contrary, it will be beautiful because of loving kindness.

Your Venerable Sir, Committee and all Honorable Guests, the sun always shines during the day, the moon is flourishing at nigh, attired whit combat gears will also be flourishing. Brahmin with endeavor also will be flourishing but Lord Buddha flourishes with His Glory both days and nights.

Even though, He has for a long time passed into Nirvna, however, the quality of the Lord Buddha is still remaining glorious, helping to relieve the sufferings of mankind and enhance the creation of happiness and peace to mankind who open their minds of accept the flow of His Dharma.

As Viskha Pj has come again, may all of us, Buddhists, specially be invited to make virtue, strictly in accordance with the Dharma of the Enlightened One, which is to say that shall we refrain from doing wickedness but making virtue, purify our minds as a return of gratification to the Enlightened One.

As Viskha Pj cames once again, we Buddhists, devotes our minds and bodies in worshipping as a charity, practice Dharma and meditation universally to worship the Conqueror of Mra (the Evil One).
