AGENDA

  1. Call to Order – 6:00 p.m.

Present: K. Funaro, J. Piacentini, D. Dysinger, K. Durr, A. Neal, P. Yoder, J. Foss, T. Raccio, S. Mowerson, C. Porcello

  1. Approval of Minutes from March 2015 meeting-approved
  1. Strategic Plan Update

A.Community Outreach-15 German students visiting for a total of twelve days. Many activities are set up for them. Going to NYC tomorrow, and Boston next week.

B.Curriculum and Instruction-In third year of curriculum. Making some changes for next year.

C.District Climate-surveyed all students, staff, and parents. Will communicate results to community.

D.Facilities-Many classrooms have been painted. Have new drop-down screen in auditorium. Hope to get projector next year for auditorium.

E.Technology-8 or 9 Chromebook carts in building. Nothing new at this point.

Students are now able to sit anywhere in cafeteria. Students are loving this!

Recommended supply list on website will be updated.

  1. System-wide PTAC update-Principals will be getting PD on virtual backpacks. Pond Hill is doing it next year. Committee may do welcoming walk through….which consists of checklists regarding how welcoming each school is. Friday café is a family engagement group which gathers monthly to talk about school/community items. They organized a science focus group which will meet the 17th and/or 19th of June at Mystic Aquarium. System-wide PTAC did a prom pledge for underage drinking. Did raffles for both parents and students who attended. Parents got in a raffle for front row seats to graduation and students had a raffle for prom tickets. 149 students entered Wallingford schools this year. There are approximately sixteen parent ambassadors.

Career day is June 2nd for eighth grade.

  1. PTO item will always be on a PTAC agenda. There will be two separate presidents. There will be bimonthly meetings.
  1. Board member elections: Open positions:

-President-one for PTO (TBD) and one for PTAC (KF)

-no Vice President/chairperson

-Treasurer for PTO (PY)

-Secretary-There will be one for both groups (KD)

B. Proposed budget for 2015-2016-See attached

C. Fundraising for the start of Fall 2015

D. Field day 2015 update-Have 4 inflatables and a dunk tank.

Will be held on June 12th. 6th and 7th grade will participate.
