She was born in Moscow and she trained at the Bolshoi Ballet School. At the age of 17 she joined the Berlin State Opera, and in 2012 she became part of the Ballet Theatre as Principal Dancer.
She has performed major roles including Odette-Odile in “Swan Lake”, Nikiya in “La Bayadère”, Marie in “The Nutcracker”, Princess Aurora in “The Sleeping Beauty”, Swanilda in “Coppellia”, Kitri in “Don Quixote”, Giselle e Myrta in “Giselle”, Tatiana in “Onegin”, Sieglinde e Brunhilde in “Ring um den Ring”, Manon in “Manon”, Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet”, Carmen in “Carmen”, Sylvia in “Sylvia”. Her repertoire included ballets such as “Afternoon of a Faun”, “Ballet Imperial”, “Apollo”, “A Midsummer Night's Dream”, “Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux”,” Diamonds”, “Theme and Variations”, “Symphony in C”, “The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude”, “Nutcracker”, “The Lady of the Camellias”.
She also danced in several choreographies of the greatest choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Mauro Bigonzetti, Patrice Bard, Renato Zanella, Uwe Scholz, Alexey Ratmanskij, Twyla Tharp, Anthony Tudor and Christian Spuck.
She has performed as Guest Artist with several companies around the world such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Bayerische State Opera in Munich, the Mikhailovskiy Theatre in St. Petersburg, the English National Ballet , the Tokyo Ballet, the Vienna State Opera Ballet, the Zurich Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet , the Opera di Roma and many others.
She has won numerous awards, including the Gold Medal at the Moscow International Ballet Competition in 2001 and the First Prize at the Vaganova Prix Ballet Competition in St. Petersburg, the Junior Prize at the Nagoya International Ballet Competition in 2002, the Daphne Prize in 2004, the German Critics Choice Award in 2005, the Dancer of the Year in 2007 and the Prize Benois de la Dance in 2014.
