MINUTES OF THE BIG BEAVER BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING November 5, 2013

HELD AT THE BIG BEAVER MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 114 FOREST DRIVE, DARLINGTON, PA 16115

President Jason Landsbach called the meeting to order at 9:00 am followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America and the Lord’s Prayer.

Visitors:

Mr. Earl Seiler from the Pittsburgh Int’l Race Complex was in attendance to ask for some clarification on the Engineers comment regarding the surety bond for the land development plan they submitted. After some discussion, President Landsbach advised Mr. Seiler that our Engineer, Planning Commission and Solicitor will advise. He also had some concerns regarding the sewage tap-in. He brought up the issue again about putting sewage down Penndale Road. After discussion, Mayor Wachter will contact Widmer Engineering regarding their proposed plan from their previous study they completed in running sewage down Penndale Road.

Financials:

The 2014 Budget is advertised for public inspection and approval will be at next meeting.

Ordinances, Resolutions:

ONGOING: The next Ad-Hoc Committee meeting will be November 25th at 7:00 p.m.

Public Relations:

The B.C. Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee Reception will be held at the Wooden Angel on Thursday, November 21st at 5:30 – 7:30. President Landsbach and Mayor Wachter will attend.

Mayor’s Report:

At the request of the Pittsburgh Race Complex, Mayor Wachter sent a letter to PennDot expressing their concern notifying on-coming traffic that Penndale Road will be approaching. After council’s review of Penndot’s response, Council agreed to send a letter per PennDot’s request to install the advance warning sign that “Penndale Road Ahead” to be in installed on S.R. 18. The Department is willing to install these signs.

At 10:55 p.m. Roz Miller made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Bob Davenport. Meeting adjourned.
