Dear Parents/Guardians,
We will soon be viewing in the French class a 1997 movie titled “Ma Vie en Rose” (directed by Alain Berliner). The movie will be in French with English subtitles.
“My life in Pink” offers gentle fantasy and a little hard reality about this innocent little boy who is made to pay for all the gay phobias, fears and prejudices of the adult world. However, the film is careful to keep its focus within childhood. It is a comedy and the going never gets too heavy. Mainly, the movie is about two ways of seeing things: the child's and the adult's. It shows how children construct elaborate play worlds out of dreams whereas adults, on the other hand, see things in more literal terms.
I need your permission to allow your son/daughter to view this film. Please complete the bottom portion of this letter. Your son/daughter needs to return it to me before we view the movie in class.
