The Rooter Club

The Rooter Club is the traditional and historic Spirit Section for the University of Minnesota and the Golden Gophers Football Team. Initiated at old Memorial Stadium, we have continued this timeless tradition to our on-campus, state-of-the-art home, TCF Bank Stadium! Our battle cry is as follows:

  1. Be Proud! Wear maroon and gold to every game
  2. Be Loud! Cheer loudly and positively for the Gophers and not against our opponent, from beginning to end
  3. Be Golden! Show that we are the best fans in the nation by behaving responsibly, being respectful of others, and encouraging others to do the same.

Members of The Rooter Club will be privy to activities and benefits by showing up early for games and participating throughout the game. For your dedication, you will have access to 100 of the best seats available at TCF Bank Stadium! Above all else, though, we are there to be fans and to have fun! We’re hand-selecting an exclusive group of our school’s most dedicated fans of Gopher Football to lead our students and show why being a Gopher is such an honor! We do, however, expect you to be a positive and energetic ambassador of the Gopher brand. Show the country why we are the best fans in the nation by holding yourself to a standard of excellence, sportsmanship, and passion for your school!

By becoming a dedicated member of The Rooter Club fans will be allowed into the game to claim their prime seats up to two hours before kick-off. The section will be closed starting 30 minutes prior to kick-off, allowing general admission fans to move into the seats. There will be a 100-person cap to The Rooter Club, so it is important you are at EVERY GAME! Rooter Club members who attend 6 out lf 7 home games will be given an additional incentive after the season, usually a gathering at TCF Stadium with appearances by key members of the athletic program recognizing your efforts and dedication! And, YES, there will also be plenty of food! We know how hungry students can get…..
