Community Service Award

The Junior League of Greenwich Community Service Award is granted to a female senior high school student who has clearly demonstrated leadership and sustained commitment to community service.

The Junior League of Greenwich is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The Community Service Award Winner will be recognized and presented with a $2,500 award at a Junior League of Greenwich event in the spring of 2016.

ELIGIBILITY

A local female high school senior who exemplifies the mission of the Junior League of Greenwich by demonstrating a sustained commitment to community service is eligible.

CRITERIA

The recipient must be someone whose volunteer activities demonstrate initiative and show a significant and sustained commitment to community service and leadership.

REQUIREMENTS

1.  Submission of application form

2.  Two written recommendations from non-family members knowledgeable of the student’s volunteer activities; at least one should be from a contact at a community organization.
