NO COOLERS OR FAST FOOD permitted in the school. A variety of food items will be available and coffee & doughnuts for early birds.

BUILDING OWNER OR CONTEST DIRECTORS will not be responsible for accidents, lost or stolen property or injuries.

RAINBOW HOUSE MAJORETTE SUPPLIES will be available all weekend.

NO DOUBLE ENTERING

NOVICE has not won 3 first place awards or first place in a higher division.

BEGINNER has not won 5 first place awards or first place in a higher division.

INTERMEDIATE has not won 8 first place awards or first place in higher division.

GYM FEE: A $20.00 gym fee (per family) will be charged and must be included with each entry. This will eliminate the door fee.

PROGRAM BOOK will include all contest information, lane assignments and last minute contest information. Be sure to order one with your entry.

NO GYMNASTICS ALLOWED: body aerials, walkovers, cartwheels, butterflies, somersaults on competition floor – DISQUALIFICATION will result.

NO SMOKING permitted inside the building. Smoking permitted as local laws permit.

VIDEO TAPING will be permitted from the upper balcony and only of your own student or child.

STATE & MISS MAJORETTE RESULTS

ALL presented Ohio State Solo and Miss Majorette Pageant score sheets will be given out at the conclusion of the awards ceremony on Sunday. The results will be given out in envelopes with the contestants name on it. All score sheets for the two day state events will be given out at this time. RESULTS become official 15 minutes after the close of the awards ceremony. Unclaimed results will NOT be mailed. Have a teacher or friend pick up your results for you.

OHIO STATE & MISS MAJORETTE INFORMATION

PAGEANT CALCULATION: 20% modeling, 40% strut & 40% solo.

ADVANCED PAGEANT MODELING ATTIER: 0-6 & 7-9 short dress,

10-12 may wear a short or long dress, 13-15 & 16 + & college long dresses.

NOVICE, BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE PAGEANT ATTIRE: As per NBTA rule, modeling will be performed in costume and the costume MUST be worn again in solo or strut.

MISS MAJORETTE OF OHIO PAGEANT -1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners in all advanced divisions are eligible to enter the Miss Majorette of America pageant at AYOP 2007.

COLLEGE MISS MAJORETTE: This event is for young ladies who have attended college and are still enrolled or graduated this year. It is also intended for girls that are furthering their education through other programs. Per NBTA rules; “shall compete in twirling contest using a 2:20 to 2:30 show routine…the first half with one baton (minimum time limit is 1:10), second half if desired, may include more than one baton and novelty baton but NO props”.

BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE PAGEANT WINNERS – all 1st place winners will qualify for AYOP 2007.

NOVICE BASIC SKILLS PAGEANT: Contestants must be a novice solo twirler. Contestants will model (NO interview) in strut or solo costume, do basic strut and novice solo.

OHIO STATE QUEEN: Advanced attire is same as Miss Majorette pageant and will be on the floor before Pageant modeling.

OFFICIAL RESULTS: All State & Miss Majorette Pageant results will become “OFFICIAL” 15 minutes at the conclusion of the awards ceremony. Please check ALL results immediately.

ORDER OF PERFORMANCE: The order of performance will be in REVERSE order the entries are received for State, and ALL open events. Pageant order will be placed in reverse order starting with solo, with strut being 1/3 down and the modeling an additional 1/3 down.

AWARDS

STATE & PAGEANT AWARDS will be 1st to 3rd trophies with the exception of Novice events that will have medallions presented. In past years we gave every contestant a participation plaque and presented them with plates. This was a task that became impossible to accomplish without error. This year we will be selling the plaques for $15.00. You need to order them with your entry and the special plaque will be ready as you arrive the day of the contest. You may then have your personal awards engraved to make this award meaningful to you.

AWARDS CEREMONY: The following event #’s will be presented at the awards ceremony: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, & 24. ALL others will be posted. Contestants will be presented in a “Parade of Champions” at the conclusion of the Sunday contest. You must wear a costume for pictures. Bring your cameras “moms & dads”.

SPECIAL ROTATING AWARDS: In past OhioState contests and Miss Majorette pageants, special advanced rotating awards were given. We will again present these awards this year in Pageant, Modeling, Strut, Solo, Collegiate Solo & two baton. Last years winners are asked to return their plaques the day of the contest. Be sure your names are engraved on the award.

OHIO STATE NOVICE, BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED

HIGH-POINT AWARDS: Your solo category determines your high point level. You will receive 5 points for every event you enter and 5 pts. for 1st, 4 pts. for 2nd and 3 points for 3rd. NO points given for lower places. Advanced winner will receive the beautiful “HERSHEY/SPOSITO TROPHY”. Novice, Beginner and Intermediate will be awarded a beautiful 3 foot trophy. This is a two day high point and ALL events will be counted. High point forms will be available at the contest directors table. You are required to complete the high-point form and list all events entered and placement points for the posted awards.

SCORE SHEETS: ALL score sheets will be passed out at the completion of the contest for all announced results. Individuals not staying for the “Awards Ceremony” may have a friend or teacher pick up your sheets and awards for you. NO results or awards will be mailed.

BUCKEYE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE: Please nominate who you feel has given above and beyond the call of duty to better twirling in Ohio.

Dear Contestants, Parents & Teachers:

Both Karen and I are excited to bring together the Ohio State Solo Championships and the Miss Majorette of Ohio for 2007. In 2004 the decision was made to join these two events to make “THE CELEBRATION OF TWIRLING” a real championship event. We are again hosting this event in the beautiful community of Medina.

The MedinaHigh School facility provides an excellent gymnasium with a practice area overlooking the contest floor. The school also has a beautiful auditorium for the awards ceremony. We want to produce an awards ceremony that will showcase all the twirlers of Ohio. For this to happen, we have combined these contests and are exciting to host this event for N. B. T. A. Ohio.

The weekend’s event is a huge undertaking. Our objective is to provide a great twirling weekend for the “Children of Ohio”, filled with great judges, a fantastic facility, beautiful awards and a great weekend for families.

There are a number of fine motels and great restaurants in the Medina area. We were unable to confirm one motel as our headquarters this year but we are including the motels and phone numbers in this brochure. At the intersection of I-71 (exit # 218) and Rt. 18 you will find almost any accommodation for your family.

We wish you all a successful weekend in Medina. If there is anything we can do to make your weekend a better one, please let us know how we can help.
