Programme of Study Year 10 and 11 Higher GCSE
Students in Set 1 will be entered for the GCSE Statistics exam. They will take this at the end of Year 10 instead of having a Year 10 Mathematics exam. It will take 2 hours 30 mins.
Students in these groups will be issued with the Rayner GCSE Intermediate Revision and Practice book. But in lessons they will use the GCSE Edexcel Higher textbook (new edition).
Year 10 students will be issued with a new Edexcel GCSE Statistics textbook in January.
Remember to use the Curriculum Extras folder and the ICT folder (which is often referred to in the scheme of work). Both of which are kept in the Maths’ office.
It is important that all of the topics are covered in the term stated. Mental and non-calculator skills should be taught and assessed on a regular basis.
Time has been allocated for; three coursework tasks (choose the better two), statistics exam at the end of Year 10, mocks and revision.
It is important to share the objectives of each lesson with the students. To enable you to do this they are included in the scheme of work, which follows these pages.
