BARWON SOUTH WEST REGIONAL FORUMS
‘Growing Business Opportunities in China’
China offers significant market opportunities for Victorian businesses and is expected to do so for many years to come. However, entering the market can be daunting and understanding the regulations and requirements of the China market can be particularly challenging.
To assist firms to grow their businesses in China, Regional Development Australia Barwon South West and the Australia China Business Council, (Australia’s leading peak business body established to promote bilateral trade between Australia and China), have entered into a partnership to deliver a series of information sessions about how to deal with the China market.
Presenters will cover a wide range of topics including, steps to achieve business success, specific market opportunities such as agribusiness and food, requirements in setting up a business venture in China and intellectual property management. Some of the topics will deal directly with issues raised in a recent industry survey of regional businesses to identify particular problems and obstacles affecting their future business growth in the China market.
This industry forum will be an excellent seminar and should be a priority for anyone dealing with China or who might be proposing to enter the China market.
Guest speakers at the various forums include Dexter Clarke, Chief Financial Officer, Futuris Automotive covering ‘Setting up a Joint Venture in China and managing the supply chain with China – Manufacturing Perspective’, Grant Dooley, Co-Head Hastings’ Asia Group will discuss ‘China’s Evolving Market – Overview,’ Daniel Plane, Special Counsel, Corrs Chambers Westgarth will speak about ‘Protecting your IP in China’ while Tamara Keys, Associate Director Agribusiness research, ANZ & Simone Tilley, Head of Victoria and Tasmania ANZ Regional Business Banking will highlight ‘Feeding the Dragon,’ finishing with Campbell Jeffery, Managing Director, The Burchett Group – Agribusiness speaking on ‘Opportunities in Agribusiness and identifying the ideal distributor.’
