The purpose of this scholarship is to create opportunities for young men and women who are interested in continuing their education in technology school, trade school or a two year college. The applicant’s interest should be in welding, agricultural mechanical, electrical, livestock, auctioneering, agricultural business or other similar fields.

Applicants must be or have been enrolled in FFA, 4H or ROP program(s) and be a graduating high school senior at an Imperial ValleySchool or currently attending Imperial ValleyCollege. All information on the application form must be filled out and include the applicants hand written explanation of why they are interested in this scholarship.
Background - The scholarship fund was established in memory of Kyle MacDonald, a young man who had many interest. Kyle was a 4H member starting from age 9 into his high school years. He was an FFA member through high school attained the highest award of “American Farmer” as well as competing at the state level in welding through the Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program. This strong foundation helped Kyle start a small business including retail sales of livestock products (4K Feed & Tack), hay sales, custom welding, and auctioneering. The Kyle MacDonald Scholarship is made possible through contributions of Kyle’s many friends and business associates.
The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the applicant. This scholarship will be offered in March each year. Many scholarships have been awarded each year. Applicants will be notified in May of each year regarding award of scholarship. Winning applicant(s) may apply for the scholarship award in the following year.
